In order to find all canals of the root canal system and to seal the root canal against bacterial invasion the use of a microscope is essential. This minimizes the risk of future re-infections as a result of missing parts of the root canal system not visible to the bare eye. The success rate of root canal treatments can be significant increased through the use of a microscope.
The CAD/CAM technology (CAD=Computer-Aided Design, CAM=Computer-Aided Manufacturing) allows for the fully automated manufacturing of ceramic restorations (inlays, onlays, crowns) by means of a computer, which in consequence decreases the cost for the patient.
